Taiwan Expo Indonesia 2024, organized by the International Trade Administration of the Ministry of Economic Affairs and executed by the Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA), is set to take place at the Jakarta Convention Center from May 16th to 18th. The "Taiwan Healthcare Pavilion" will be set up in the exhibition, gathering Taiwan's top medical groups and the latest industry players in smart medical care, Lifestyles of Health and Sustainability (LOHAS) health care, assistive medical devices, and other fields to demonstrate the strength of Taiwan's health industry.

With a successful track record since its inception in 2017, Taiwan Expo Indonesia has attracted over 100,000 visitors and facilitated robust business relationships between Indonesia and Taiwan. The expo plays a vital role in strengthening bilateral trade relations, with expected potential transactions worth USD 247 million.

James C.F. Huang, Chairman of TAITRA, emphasized the significance of Taiwan Expo 2024 as a platform for strengthening the relationship between Taiwan and Indonesia, promoting networking opportunities, and enhancing industrial cooperation. He expressed confidence in the partnership between the two nations, highlighting their shared vision for a smarter and better future.

At Taiwan Expo Indonesia 2024, visitors will have the opportunity to engage in stimulating forums, enlightening seminars, and productive one-on-one business meetings. These platforms will foster collaboration and open new doors of opportunity for exhibitors and visitors alike.

The Taiwan Healthcare Pavilion at the expo brings together 22 representatives from Taiwan's health and medical industry, including various medical institutions. Their collective aim is to promote specialty medical care in Indonesia, aligning with initiatives such as the Ministry of Health and Welfare's "Medical and Healthcare New Southbound" project. Participating institutions include Linkou Chang Gung Memorial Hospital (known for its expertise in proton therapy), Hualien Tzu Chi Hospital (famous for cell therapy), Shin Kong Wu Ho-Su Memorial Hospital (promoting preventive medicine), Nuwa Fertility Center Taipei (specializing in infertility treatment), and many more.

The Taiwan Healthcare Pavilion showcases cutting-edge examples of healthcare technology. One notable exhibit is the "AI-assisted diagnosis for diabetic retinopathy software," which utilizes artificial intelligence to analyze retinal images and enhance the diagnosis of retinopathy, a common complication of diabetes. This software improves diagnostic accuracy and expedites the diagnostic process by leveraging AI technology. Another highlight is the "iOpen Stroke Rehabilitation Robot," a personalized robotic device designed for stroke rehabilitation. With its adaptive capabilities, the iOpen robot caters to the unique tension and movement requirements of individual users, facilitating grip training and aiding in the recovery process. These innovative solutions exemplify Taiwan's advancements in healthcare technology, showcasing the integration of AI and robotics to improve diagnostic precision and enhance personalized rehabilitation approaches.

The Taiwan Healthcare Pavilion at Taiwan Expo Indonesia 2024 promises to be a significant event that brings together industry leaders, innovative technologies, and a shared vision for the future of healthcare. With its cutting-edge solutions and collaborative opportunities, the pavilion aims to strengthen the partnership between Taiwan and Indonesia in the healthcare field, paving the way for advancements in medical care and improved patient outcomes.
